Stretch began like most fanzines: as an excuse to get free cds and meet our idols (including, I'm honoured to say, the mighty Megadeth. um). As you can tell, I might have been a fan of Raygun at the time; it's scary, but meeting David Carson was a bigger deal to me than any of the bands we interviewed.

We managed two rather sporadic issues (both runs of which sold out quickly in record stores around London), sold a little advertising, sat around backstage with bands drinking the rider and trying not to look like what we were: teenage preppies.

And then the web happened. Netscape 1.1, a crate of Stella, and some huge imagemaps. Who could ask for more?
